And the Winner is…
When my local illustrator posse decided to do a blog tour, I thought it was a brilliant idea. “Count me in,” I heartily agreed over chips and guacamole with a margarita sloshing wildly in hand no doubt. Several months later when Juana, our resident internet guru who you will meet this week and hear from on this station on Friday, announced it was time, I may have been a bit less enthusiastic. O.K. the response was similar to my Mom asking me to clean my room. There was grumbling, lots of heavy sighing and maybe even a stomp or too. More unpaid work, like we don’t do enough of that, and you just don’t understand. The world is out to get me. Sssssiiiigggghhhh.
Luckily, for me, Juana has two young kids and is quite used to mid-level hissy fits. She does what all good parents do-she ignores them. I am grateful. Not only has it been a great learning experience, keeping up with Comments and Likes and Shares and Tweets, but I have been positively blown away by the kindness and generosity of spirit that has flowed from the creative community where I reside. I have never felt so loved and that includes the time my grandparents bought me the three foot high Walking Annette with her Hair Styling Set. So while one person will win my original art giveaway, I’m afraid it is me, in all my sappy glory, who is the real winner, neener, neener. And thank you.
